Stratford Town over-60s matched the efforts of the club’s over-50s side by reaching the WFA Cup regional final. The Bards secured a 3-1 victory away at Stroud Park to book their place in the regional final. A hat-trick from Mark Habberley, who has recently been invited to train with England Walking Football, sent the Bards into the final Stratford will face Abbeymead Rovers in the WFA Cup over-60s regional final.

Stratford Town Walking Football Club enjoyed an outstanding day of results on Sunday, recording success across several age groups and competitions. The club’s women’s team and over-50s men were both crowned champions at the Corby United Tournament, while the over-65s narrowly missed out after a strong performance. The over-60s also added to the club’s achievements by defeating Worcestershire League champions Evesham to progress in the WFA Cup.

The following day, both Blackburn Rovers sides competed in their respective age categories in the Dick Kerr Ladies Cup. The Over 50s were narrowly knocked out at the quarter-final stage following a series of impressive performances, made all the more notable given the team has only recently begun competing against other teams. The Over 40s went one better than the previous day, winning the competition, which was being held for the eighth time. After another strong run to the final, they faced Bolton Wanderers. Once again, the match was decided by penalties, but this time Rovers held their nerve to secure victory and be crowned 2026 Dick Kerr Ladies Cup champions.
