The Over 70s years of age walking footballers of the club battle through to the next round of the Walking Football Association National Cup.
After a hard-fought game against Bexley Seniors that ended 1 – 1 after extra time the Seniors of the Old Bexhillians Walking Football Club made it trough to the Second round where they will entertain Eastbourne United WF Club or Worthing, again at home.
Falling behind early in the game when Bexley`s Terry Roland struck a pile driver from 30 feet, Bexhill battled on and in the second half a breakaway effort from Colin Searing who struck a crisp shot into the corner levelled the match and this is how it stayed after extra time.
The two teams were evenly matched in most departments and nothing really separated the teams in all departments.
The penalty shoot out resulted in Team Manager and goalkeeper Rob ( Raz) Carey saving all the Bexley efforts and Dave Fricker converting one of the Seniors three penalties to enable the first time ever a Seniors side have progressed in this Senior event.
