Across Europe, walking football has been built by volunteers and national associations, often years before anyone else took an interest. That is what makes it strong, and it is why international competition has grown unevenly.
The European Walking Football Alliance (EWFA) exists to bring it together. We believe walking football is football, and that European competition should be organised in partnership with the game’s existing structures, not apart from them.

The Euro WFA exists to:
- Organise European competition
- Connect national programmes
- Work alongside football’s authorities
EWFA is one of several walking football alliances. All of them adopt the same founding charter, unchanged.
The European Walking Football Alliance is being founded by the nations that joined at the start. Every member, founding or not, has the same single vote;

- Jersey
- Czech Republic
- Wales
- Scotland
- Northern Ireland
- Cyprus
- Netherlands
- Lithuania
- Sweden
The first EWFA event brings European nations together for the European Championship in Torrevieja Sports City, Spain, on 2–6 November 2026.
