The Men’s Over 60s celebrated an extremely successful restart to the League season after the August break. They won all four matches, defeating Heybridge Swifts 2-0, Beacon Hill Rovers Blue 3-0, Grays Athletic 1-0 and Billericay Town Red 2-1 to move up to second in the Division 2 with three games remaining in October. Leyton Orient Red are 5 points clear at the top, but Little Oakley trail Pirates by only a point, so it will be a tense end to the season.
The Men’s Over 65s season finished in the same manner as earlier in the year, with a mixed set of results. They started the final round of matches with a 1-2 defeat by Billericay Town Blue, only to bounce back by winning 1-0 against Eastwood Falcons Yellow. Their final match ended 0-0 against Billericay Town White, leaving Pirates mid-table having moved up one place to 6th on the day out of 10 teams.
The Men’s Over 70s had a disappointing restart to the season after the August break. They started with a defeat to Barnet by 0-2, followed by a 0-1 defeat by Norwich Soca Seniors. A final 1-0 win over Eastwood Falcons Yellows saw them remain 6th in Division One out of 10 teams.

Pirates had three players in the All Stars Over 74 squad for the final round of League fixtures and for once they lived up to their name as they were undefeated on the day for finish the season in 3rd place of 4 teams. Their first match saw them come from behind to defeat Billericay 2-1 and they followed this with the same score against Norwich Soca. Their final match was against Little Oakley, who had just won the League and they held them to a 0-0 draw.
At the end of September, focus switched to the League Cup with both the Men’s Over 60s and 70s involved in the finals day. The Over 60s suffered a poor day, losing 1-4 against Blackmore Athletic Blue, but then recovering to draw 0-0 with Billericay Town Blue. However, a 0-5 reverse to Cheshunt saw them knocked out, thus missing the semi-finals and final. The Over 70s fared even worse, losing all three of their matches to Little Oakley (1-3), Leyton Orient White (1-2) and Leyton Orient Red (0-2), thus suffering the same fate as the Over 60s.
In mid-September, away from the League and Cup matches, Pirates held their annual charity event. Harlow Town FC donated use of their pitch and facilities as Pirates organised a tournament, fielding four teams of their own and two from Bishop’s Stortford. Each team was a mix of women and men and the final was contested by a team from each club, with Pirates walking out winners, 1-0. The match fees and raffle raised £877 which Pirates topped up to £1000 from their own charity fund and this will be donated to St. Clare Hospice.
