Freedom Leisure, one of the UK’s leading charitable and not-for-profit leisure trusts, is proud to be supporting Age UK’s Act Now Age Better campaign for 2026 across its sites in Hastings and Rother.
The national campaign encourages people to move a little more now to help them age better in the future, highlighting the positive impact that staying active can have on physical health, mental wellbeing and independence later in life.
To help local residents take their first step, Freedom Leisure is offering a free 7-day guest pass for people aged 50+, providing the opportunity to access facilities and try a range of activities at centres across Hastings and Rother.
With a variety of options available, from aqua aerobics to walking sports and group exercise classes, there is something to suit all abilities, interests, and confidence levels. The initiative aims to make movement more accessible, enjoyable, and easy to fit into everyday life.
Across the wider campaign, supported by over 50 national partners, people are encouraged to explore new ways to stay active, whether through gentler, social activities or more structured fitness sessions.
By removing barriers and providing free access, Freedom Leisure hopes to inspire more people to build positive habits that can support a healthier later life.
Toby Reed, Freedom Leisure’s Area Manager in Hastings, commented; “We are delighted to be supporting the Act Now Age Better campaign and helping local residents take those important first steps towards a more active lifestyle. We know that getting started can sometimes feel daunting, which is why our free 7-day pass is designed to give people the chance to explore our facilities, try new activities and find something they enjoy in a welcoming environment.”
“Whether it’s a class, or a walking sport, there are so many ways to get moving, and even small changes can make a big difference to long-term health and wellbeing.”
Freedom Leisure remains committed to working in partnership with local authorities and national organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities it serves.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the free pass and discover activities that can help them stay active, connected, and confident as they age.
