Foundation 92 walking football team enjoyed an excellent run of form recently, with strong performances in both tournaments and local friendlies.
The highlight came at a tournament held at Stockport FC, featuring eight teams split into two leagues of four. Foundation 92 produced an impressive group stage display, starting with a convincing 5–0 win over County Green, followed by a solid 2–0 victory against County Royal Blue. The team then sealed progression to the knockout stages with a 3–1 win against Culcheth Trippers.
That run setup a place in the final, where Foundation 92 once again showed their quality and teamwork, defeating Culcheth Amblers 3–1 to lift the tournament trophy. It was a fantastic all-round team performance, with great effort from everyone involved and some excellent finishing throughout the day.

The momentum continued the following weekend on Sunday 1st February, when Foundation 92 faced Oldham Athletic FC Foundation. The match was played in excellent spirit, with plenty of laughter, friendly banter, and respect between both sides; exactly how walking football should be.

Foundation 92 started brightly, racing into a 2–0 lead before Oldham pulled one back via a deflection to make it 2–1. From there, Foundation 92 took control, going into half-time 4–1 ahead and eventually running out 7–1 winners, at full time.
While the results and performances were impressive, the real takeaway from both matches was the enjoyment, sportsmanship, and friendships formed along the way. As Eric from the team said, “it wasn’t all about the score — it was about making new friends and enjoying walking football the way it should be played.”
