BURTON Albion will be showcasing a team of 11 Brewers community heroes at our game against Charlton on Saturday.
Local community heroes will be celebrated up and down the country in January as the EFL, EFL Trust, 72 EFL Clubs and their Community Club Organisations launch the first-ever EFL Community Weekends…
John Widdowson, Interim Head of Community at Burton Albin Community Trust, said: “We are delighted to be part of this EFL initiative highlighting the amazing impact clubs and their community trusts make on a day-to-day basis.
“Our 11 community champions are great ambassadors for the wonderful work that goes on and I hope putting them in the spotlight will encourage all our supporters to find out more about we do and hopefully for them to engage with us if they don’t already.”
The 11 community champions are:
- Dave Raby – Adult Disability/Walking Football
- Ben Wolffe – Long Term Service to Girls’ Football
- Connor Wheeler – Participant/Work experience/Volunteer/Part-time employee
- Sam Thomas – Community Captain
- Sally Hill – Extra Time Hub/50s Fitness/Wellbeing Walks
- Pam Owen – Extra Time Hub/50s Fitness/Wellbeing Walk
- Alfie Bullock – Winshill Kicks
- Bendith Appiaah-Blaay – Unity Park Kicks
- Alan Wiggins – Active Recovery
- Kev Pearce – Active Recovery
- Suzanne Allis – BACT in Ghana
