A walking football club has teamed up with a care home in a new community scheme.
Botley Walking Football Club has partnered with Snowdrop Place Care Home in Hedge End, which now welcomes players each week for post-match refreshments and socialising.
The partnership was launched following a recent match, with players enjoying tea and cake at the care home alongside representatives from Botley Parish Council and fellow sponsors, Botley Mills.
Gemma Hicks, general manager at Snowdrop Place, said: “It was fantastic to welcome the team to Snowdrop Place after their match.
“We are incredibly proud to support Botley Walking Football Club and look forward to welcoming the players each week.
“This is exactly the kind of community partnership we love at Snowdrop Place.”
The club’s new shirts now feature the Snowdrop Place logo on the back.
Future plans include taking residents to matches to cheer on the team, and possibly even getting involved in friendly games.
