What a day for Hillbillies United! The inaugural Walking Football Tournament at the SA Masters Games was a fantastic success, bringing together players from across South Australia for a memorable day of fun, fitness, friendship, and community spirit in Port Elliot.
With three teams competing in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, the event showcased the continued growth of walking football across the state.
Special congratulations go to the winners, Hillbillies United, a combined team from Tailem Bend and Mount Barker, who claimed the gold following a thrilling final that reportedly went all the way to penalties.

Players demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the day, highlighting why walking football is becoming increasingly popular among older adults looking to stay active and socially connected.
Walking football is held on Monday mornings at the Tailem Bend Primary School gym.
