Salisbury FC Walking Football

Over 50’s walking football is bringing people together at locations across the country – bringing them back to playing a 5-a-side version of the beautiful game. The benefits are widespread: in addition to enhancing fitness, evidence is emerging that playing walking football for fun with a group of new friends generates improvements in mental and social well-being. Our group’s focus is therefore on everyone enjoying the experience, rather than keeping the score.

For anyone that wants a more competitive experience, we have a team in the Wiltshire Sunday Walking Football League, the Hampshire Wednesday morning league, run our own tournaments and regularly participate in tournaments and friendlies elsewhere.

We run 5 sessions a week:
• Five Rivers Leisure Centre, Hulse Road – Mondays and Thursdays 10 – 12 am indoors
• S Wilts Sports Club, Wilton Road – Mondays and Fridays 10 – 11:30 am outdoors on Astroturf
• Sarum Academy, Westwood Road – Wednesdays 8 – 9:30 pm outdoors on a new 3G pitch (special footwear required)

Everyone is welcome to come along and take part – in fact, we pride ourselves on making all new players welcome, regardless of skill level. Everyone in the group is happy to offer colleagues encouragement and support, both on and off the pitch.

All sessions are £4.00.

Come along and see us in action – better still, bring some trainers and a drink, pay the (small) session fee and join in (there are no joining fees or subscriptions and you play only when it suits you).
