Last play Football 18 years ago.
Played many other codes.
I’m the Ambasador for Walking Football South Africa.
How long have you been a Walking Football Ambassador?
For the past 3-4 month.
We a fairly new organization Est: 2017.
How many hours per week do you spend in your ambassadorial role?
Spend around 6 hour per day doing just about everything to keep the guys playing.
How fast has Walking Football spread in South Africa and in which ways is it being promoted there?
Walking Football spreading very fast.
Social media are used to the max.
News paper well as radio.
How many clubs are there in South Africa now and are they spread across the whole country?
We only have teams in Cape Town.
Idea was to build ours first.
How many regular players attend your sessions and how quickly have numbers grown?
100 Or more players attend matches around Cape Town 5 Days per week now.
They choose their days but almost all play each week since day one.
Can you let the readers know about your Walking Football sessions in regards of which age group are they for, are they male only, female only or unisex sessions?
Female involvement is slow 4 now.
We have a plan in place for 2018 to deal with female Walking Football.
I understand you hope to have a league running next year. Could you tell the readers more about this?
2018 January our official Walking Football league will kickoff.
We working on 16 clubs in to start the league.
Is Walking Football funded in any way and if so, how did you achieve securing these revenue streams?
Field bookings & refreshments are all monies are generated through Player weekly donation.
When your players play a competitive game, rather than one of the weekly Walking Football fitness sessions, do you see any change of attitude in respect of competitiveness in them?
We experience as fitness increases players become more competitive, why working on a league system for thos former star players.
You are currently in the process of organising a tournament, could you please let the readers know more about it and who else is involved?
Walking Football Cape Town / South Africa.
Joining forces with Cansa promoting cancer.
Awareness ,some players and close friends are sufferers of this disease.
Do you feel fitter and healthier since you have started playing Walking Football and if so in which ways?
Walking Football is the best sport at our age
For fitness & health reason it’s excellent.
Can you describe any injuries you have suffered when playing Walking Football and can you let the readers know how they were caused?
Injuries occurred mainly on hard surfaces.
Knee injuries the main problem.
Do you always have a member present who has had first aid training at your games and training sessions, and is there a defibrillator available if needed?
We carry our first Aid kit with us 24/7.
It goes with to all our matches.
Has your social life changed since you became involved with Walking Football, and if so in which ways?
Social life very good ,I’m in a very good space with the best of people, 100 plus friends wow.
What are your best and worst Walking Football memories?
My best moment in Walking Football memories is to see smiles it brings put on everyone faces because of this experience.

How else has playing Walking Football affected your life?
Walking Football had given me a new network of close friends ,who happy when they see me.
What do you like most about Walking Football?
I just love EVERYTHING about Walking Football a great sport.
What do you like least about Walking Football?
No dislikes all just fine with Walking Football.
Do you find it difficult NOT to run and what advice could you give someone in how to remain at walking pace?
No Running on our shirts as a reminder.
But every now and then you just run.
It’s all fun we enjoy it.
What advice would you give to someone who would like to play but is nervous about approaching a club or attending a Walking Football session for the first time?
We all equal in Walking Football you don’t have to pressure yourself ,just enjoy the moment.
What do your friends and family think about you playing a sport again at your age?
I’m the front man online on YouTube been all over the show the wife got involve she does all videos for YouTube friends all support me.
What are your goals for the future regarding Walking Football in South Africa?
We have a dream,to play around our Country
National well as international soon.
