Organised by Stones in the Community, the tournament will showcase the continued growth of walking football, a format of the game that allows older players to stay active, social and involved in football in a safe and enjoyable environment. The event will bring together players across multiple age categories, highlighting the inclusivity and popularity of the sport.

Walking football has become one of the fastest-growing forms of the game in recent years, providing significant physical and mental health benefits while fostering friendships and community spirit. Stones in the Community currently runs successful walking football programmes for men aged 50 and over and women aged 40 and over, welcoming players of all abilities. The sessions help participants maintain fitness, improve wellbeing and remain connected through a shared love of football.

Sunday’s tournament promises to be a celebration of everything that makes walking football special, with competitive action taking place throughout the day alongside the opportunity for players to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
