A walking football club in Dorset has come out on top in a friendly fixture.
Dorset Parky Striders took on Eastleigh Walking Football Club at the Places Leisure Centre in Eastleigh, with both sides fielding two teams each.
A total of six matches were played, all of which were won by the Striders.
Mark Seal, manager of the Striders, said: “A huge thank you to Eastleigh Walking Football Club for hosting us and for their superb hospitality.
“It was a great day of football, played in exactly the right spirit.
“We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were delighted to come away with six wins, but the friendship between the two clubs is what really matters.”
He said the club now looks forward to welcoming Eastleigh to Dorset for a return fixture.
The club is now preparing for its next competition, a Parkinson’s Walking Football Tournament in Glasgow.
Taking place on Saturday, November 14, the tournament will bring together teams from across the country.
It will give the Striders another chance to compete at a high level while continuing to promote the physical, social and community benefits of walking football for people affected by Parkinson’s.
