A women’s walking football club celebrated its second anniversary with a league tournament win.
Basingstoke Women’s Walking Football Club marked two years since its formation by winning in their Division Two Hampshire FA League Tournament on Sunday, April 26.
The club, which has gone from strength to strength, also recently secured the runner-up position in a Fulham FC Foundation tournament, celebrating International Women’s Day.
A team of eight players represented the club at the tournament.
Manager Jules expressed pride in the team’s performance.
She said: “It was a team effort and I am very proud.”
The club trains twice a week at Queen Mary’s College on Mondays at 6.30pm and Wednesdays at 7.30pm.
The club is open to new members who would like to give walking football a try.
