On Sunday 18th January 2026, Middlesex FA proudly delivered the second Women’s Walking Football Festival at Ealing Trailfinders, with women from across the country playing in a fun and non-competitive festival.
The event brought together a host of Women’s Walking Football Teams who deliver weekly sessions, with 10 teams taking part in the fun and inclusive tournament. The Walking Football Festival is a new initiative started at Middlesex FA which continues to grow from strength to strength, by offering accessible and inclusive football
Designed with inclusivity at its heart, the programme creates safe and welcoming spaces where women can focus on their social, mental and physical wellbeing through the power of football. The Walking Football Festivals showed teams taking part in non-competitive football in a supportive environment and the growth of the Women’s game in Middlesex.

The day was led by Middlesex FA Women’s Community Football Officer, Davina Adesanya, who has played a key role in the development and delivery of the Women’s Walking Football Festivals.
The tournament itself was a great success, with 10 teams coming to play. With there being no overall winner, the women had an amazing time just having fun and getting know women from different teams.

Teams taking part included Hampton Rangers, Luton Town, Cheshunt Ladies, Uxbridge, Watford, Wycombe Warriors and Barnet – reflecting the growing network of providers supporting women’s football across Middlesex.
Davina shared her thoughts on the success of the event:
“Women’s Walking Football is more than just football, it’s a space where women can feel confident, supported and wanting to play. The second Women’s Walking Festival came with great enthusiasm from all the clubs who took part, supporting more women to play competitive football.
“The festivals being played are helping to create a safe environment for women to take part in different formats of football, this works towards one of the key pillars of our ‘Realising Our Potential’ strategy of supporting the growth of Women’s Football and helping create more opportunities for women of all ages and abilities to play, whether casually or competitively.
“We can’t wait for the next one, which will hopefully grow even bigger!”
