WFA TLH Kicking Cancer vs Nottingham Forest FCCT

5 Jun 2023 1 min read No comments Impairment / Disability

WFA TLH Kicking Cancer travelled to Carlton Football Academy in Nottingham to take on Nottingham Forest FCCT on World Cancer Survivors Day.

KC got off to a flying start when debutant Mark Atterbury found the net with a well struck low shot.

NF were soon on level terms though with a powerful shot following a well worked free kick routine.

The game was finely poised but KC took the lead again just before half time with a nice finish from Peter Stokes aka Junior.

Forest started the second half purposefully and Paul Roche in KC had to make a couple of smart saves.

Soon after though Mark added his second and third goals to make it 4-1 going in to the last quarter.

Forest were still creating chances but a fourth for Mark and a smart finish from Chris Tibbetts put the game out of their reach.

They never gave up though and scored a deserved second goal minutes from the end.

The match was played in a good spirit and well reffed by Andrew Dilley.

A rematch will definitely take place later in the year.
