Profile
In late 2015, two PGOSA members asked if we had heard about this non contact sport from England called “Walking Football”. After a bit of organizing, VanIsle Walking Soccer “kicked off” in March 2016. We are advised that we were the first Organized League to form in Canada. The sport of Walking Football is huge in England and Europe and is slowly spreading across North America and known as Walking Soccer here.
If you would like to check it out, you will find us all ‘walking around’ the Arbutus Meadows Arena in Nanoose, B.C. for our fall and winter sessions. Our schedule for both outdoor and indoor walking soccer can be found in the PGOSA calendar. We are always looking for new players from our PGOSA membership and you would be most welcome!
We play from September to March indoors at Arbutus Meadows Arena on Tuesdays and Thursdays and then we play for FREE at the Parksville Community Park from April to September….usually from about 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursday afternoons.
All players are required to be members of the Parksville Golden Oldies Sports Association (PGOSA) – annual membership fee is $15.00 currently.
