Profile
People living with Parkinson’s from across Huddersfield and the surrounding areas of West Yorkshire are being invited to try a new walking football session from Huddersfield Town Foundation (HTF).
Supported by grant funding from Parkinson’s UK, with additional support from the EFL Community Trust, the Foundation will be delivering walking football, solely for those living with Parkinson’s.
Walking football is an adapted version of the game, played at walking pace to reduce the risk of injury whilst enhancing balance, coordination and contributing to recommended physical activity guidelines. Taking part in physical activity can have a positive impact on the symptoms associated with Parkinson’s, but also mental wellbeing.
No prior walking football experience is necessary to take part, with sessions led by FA qualified HTF staff, who have also undertaken extra training in delivering football and physical activity sessions to those living with Parkinson’s.
To join you can just turn up on the day, or for more information, contact Matt Crookes
