It is important to stay fit, active and healthy whatever your age. As you get older, regular exercise and playing a physical sport such as walking football can help you build and improve your strength, increase your core stability, help you to lose or maintain weight and improve muscles. It can sometimes be hard to keep steady on your feet, but this sport can also help to improve your balance.
Since we launched our walking football sessions back in July 2015, our WF players have proven that no matter what your age, the sky (or the football field in this case) has no limit! The sessions now have over 60 registered participants, and have not only given our older generation a chance to keep fit and active, but has also created a big circle of friends that just keeps on growing!
The club now offer three weekly walking football sessions on a Monday evening, Tuesday afternoon and Thursday evening – offering males and females aged 45 years and over the chance to keep fit and active and to continue playing the sweet game of football that they love!
