The U.S. Walking Soccer Association, a league that promotes a low-impact version of the popular sport, is establishing its first headquarters in Las Vegas.
League leaders joined local officials on Monday to announce the development.
Walking soccer is described as a slower, non-contact version of traditional soccer. It’s intended for adults 50 and older or those with injuries that prevent them from competing at faster paces.

The sport has grown in popularity in recent years as a way to promote physical and mental health among seniors. The inaugural World Nations Cup was held in England in 2023, with 19 countries competing.
Organizers say that by headquartering the association in Las Vegas, the city can become a hub for tournaments, training events and other competitions.
