Colchester United Community Foundation Walking Football weekly sessions take place at the JobServe Community Stadium and Shrub End Community & Sports Centre (CO2 9BG). They are led by our qualified coaches and suitable for anyone over the age of 50 (males and females).
• JobServe Community Stadium, United Way, CO4 5UP Thursday 5pm-6pm
• Shrub End Community & Sports Centre, Boadicea Way, CO2 9BG Friday 12pm-1pm (term time only)
Walking Football is a slower version of the beautiful game that allows people to play football for longer. It is a great way to get outside and exercise, making friends along the way. With no running, jogging or heading and physical contact kept to a minimum, Walking Football is a fun and safe way for players to stay or get back into football. Please see below some of health and social benefits of Walking Football:
• Reduced risk of developing cardiovascular disease and strokes.
• Help people to lose weight.
• Improving your blood pressure.
• Reduced risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
• Make new friends and form lasting relationships.
What to wear – Comfortable sportswear, AstroTurf trainers or moulded football boots and shin pads.
Cost – £5.25 per session, payments are made via a block payment on our Class4Kids website https://colchester-united-cf.classforkids.io
