Carlisle United Community Sports Trust are delighted to announce that Pirelli UK have agreed to become the official sponsor of Walking Football.
CUFC CST are incredibly pleased that Pirelli UK have pledged their support to the project and the club’s official charity, which will help support our community.
The walking football programme has been running since November 2014, bringing together people over the age of 50 twice a week to enjoy football and connect with others.
Each session focuses not just on the physical side of the game but also on promoting social interaction and overall well-being, helping participants stay active while reducing social isolation.
The matches are followed by a friendly gathering in our study centre, where players can relax and chat over tea or coffee.
Pirelli UK have had a strong association with the city since opening the factory in 1969 and is now the only remaining tyre manufacturer in the UK.
The company’s relationship with the football club dates back to the 1970s, initially advertising in the matchday programme. However, the sponsorship of the Walking Football project marks the first time they have partnered with the club’s official charity.
