A gravestone-maker from Barnsley has won a World Cup in walking football for the second time.

Paul Walton, from Hoyland Common, won the title at over60s level in Spain – having previously won the over50s event in 2023. England played five group games, a quarter-final, semi-final and final with Paul scoring four goals.

He said: “It’s unbelievable.

“I played at an amateur level all my life then to travel to Spain and play for my country and raise the World Cup, it’s kind of a dream.”
