Weekly Walking Football sessions for Military Veterans at the home of Merthyr Town Football Club
Our Community Foundation will be seeking to engage with military veterans in the surrounding areas to offer a support network through the medium of sport. We hope that this will encourage participation to increase both psychological and physical well-being for this cohort of important individuals that have served our Country.
Sessions will take place every Wednesday, at the Met Coaches Community Stadium, 11am to 12 noon, and we would encourage as many military personnel to come along and enjoy playing this expanding form of football.
Eventually we will look to take part in a regional Military Veterans competition against other areas.
A former serviceman and Board member, Julian Axhorn will lead on this project and we have already been in contact with the active veterans ex-Services support networks in the neighbouring Valleys areas to promote this important event.
