At Melbourne’s very own Walking Football Club (MWFC), we are a collective of men ‘of a certain vintage’ who either don’t have the physical capabilities to pound up and down a football pitch these days, or who just miss the camaraderie and banter (which can be scathing!) of like-minded wannabe Ronaldos!
We have training sessions most Friday evenings for casual players at the MSP – or for those requiring and retaining a more competitive edge we participate in the FA’s official Walking Football League (matches played indoor at the DW Sports Centre – opposite Derby County Football Club, Pride Park).
Those who think Walking Football is merely for ‘oldies’ strolling around pretending they can (or used to) play – please come along and experience the thrill of the Beautiful Game played by very enthusiastic gents who may have 50+ year old bodies these days, but their football brains are still 19!
Walking football is also great exercise as well as fun!
Walking Football takes place on our 3G pitch – the AGP
