What a fantastic weekend!
This year we entered two teams into the WFA National Cup in Nottingham. On Saturday the Blues (over 40’s) took to the pitches and although we were against some very good teams we played our hearts out. We were lucky enough to be supported by the Green team (over 50’s) and other family members. Their encouragement was paramount to us keeping our heads up.
On Sunday it was the Blues’ turn to bellow from the sidelines, as it was the Greens’ time to show their Silky Skills. They played really well and were rewarded with a couple of well-deserved wins.
We didn’t come top of any table, but we had a fantastic time. Thank you to everyone who stayed over and supported the teams. Thank you for all the words of encouragement from the players who were unable to play. This is what our club is all about. It was a real pleasure to play football and socialise with a great group of people.
Might even have to do it again next year!
