1)How long have you played Walking Football?

2 Years.

 

2) Why did you first get involved with Walking Football?

Because the love of playing football never leaves you it’s just time that catches up on you and slows you down.W/F has allowed me to play again, but as importantly it’s great exercise and the social side is immeasurable.

 

3) What one or two things do you currently do in your training sessions that you think are important to avoid injury?

We do a good ten minutes warm up before each session to ensure muscles are warm and stretched to avoid injuries.The warm up is as important in Walking Football as in any other sport.

 

4) How many times a week do you take part in Walking Football sessions?

3 Times a week

 

5) Have you played competitive Walking Football, if so which tournaments/ leagues?

I have played In the FA People’s Cup, Greater Manchester Walking Football League over 60s league and Wigan over 60s Tournament.

 

6) Has your diet changed since you have started playing Walking Football? If so what is different?

No.

 

7) Do you feel fitter and healthier since you have started playing Walking Football and if so in which ways?

Yes I do feel much fitter my stamina has improved.

 

8) Have you had any injuries playing and if so what were they?

Yes I had ankle ligament damage which stop me playing for 2 weeks and a couple of hand injuries whilst being in Goal.

 

9) Do you always have a club member present who has had first aid training at your games and training sessions?

We have 2 first aiders a each session, both attended an FA first aid course.

 

10) Has your social life changed since you started playing, and if so in what way?

Yes we often have social evenings going for meals which are always well attended.

 

11) What are your best and worst memories of playing Walking Football?

I have no bad memories, just good ones from playing Waking Football.

 

12) How else has playing Walking Football affected your life?

The number of new people I have met who are now good friends.

 

13) What do you like most about Walking Football?

Playing the game and being involved in the running of our club.

 

14) What do you like least about Walking Football?

Nothing.

 

15) What are your goals for the future when playing Walking Football?

To continue playing for as long as I can and to help promote the benefits of Walking Football to others.
