A FINE finish to the season made sure Hawarden Park lifted the title.
The club’s over 60s team entered the closing stage of fixtures in the North Wales Walking Football League at St Asaph in joint-second place.
However, Park beat Prestatyn 1-0, Colwyn Bay 3-0, Deeside 2-0, Amlwch 5-0 and Llanfair 2-1 to take the title.
A club spokesman said: “This is a massive achievement for our 60s who played extremely well and worked very hard for each other. We now look forward to the Welsh finals in Newtown.”

White Bear and Mynydd Isa suffered shoot-out heartbreak in the North East Wales Veterans’ League Cup.
The Bears boys went out 4-2 on penalties to Conwy Borough after their thriller ended 4-4.

David Hazeldine (2), Billy Williams and Ryan Dunn got the goals while Steven Orsler (2) and Richard Dermott netted in Isa’s 3-3 draw with Prestatyn Sports, who held their nerve to win on penalties.
Broughton United battered Penmaenmawr Phoenix 5-1 thanks to Adrian Gough, Matt Owen, James Sinnott, Richard Deponeo and Lewis Greenwood while Buckley Town lost 3-0 to Llandudno Junction.
Lee Jones, Matthew Bennett and Carl Wright were Holywell Town’s scorers in a 3-1 success at Gresford Colliery for whom Daniel Buck replied.
In league action, Llay Welfare beat Denbigh Wanderers 4-1 with Matthew Worrall (2), Steve Evans and Warren Aykroyd-Duckett on target.
It ended 4-4 between Hawarden Rangers and FC Queen’s Park, who had two players sent off. Alan Dawson fired in all four for Rangers with Mikey Latham (2), Stephen Rees and Darren Jones earning Park a point.
