EWFC 40s squad
Excellent tournament in Cardiff. Well done to our 4 debutees Ann -Marie Chuckles Teale, Kelly Holsworth, Michelle Williams & Elizabeth Pitt
Great to see all 3 outfield players on the scoresheet and GK making some great saves.
The 40s settled into playing together like they had played together multiple times before! The inter changing of positions and moving the ball quickly was exciting to watch.
All players were really strong on the day, but Player of the day was given to Michelle Williams. After her initial nerves, she settled into the games and made a real difference to the outcomes. I was really pleased that she grabbed a screamer of a goal on her debut.
You all represented the EWFC and your club sides in the right way

Congratulations to our over 50s who had a great tournament in Cardiff.
With 1 player on her first session back from injury and another coming down with a bug last week, it was going to be a real team effort for success.
This is the first tournament that these players have played together as a squad but settled into the flow of the games easily. Some excellent passing combinations and attacking play was on show with all team members able to play a part.
Some excellent performances and it was really tricky to pick out a player of the day, but Juliet Mason for helping out in defence and 3 excellently taken goals received the award.
Well done to all players. You represented the EWFC and your club sides excellently.

Next up our over 55s. This is a new squad with many experienced players moving from other age groups.
We also welcomed Sue Puddephatt for her debut in an EWFC shirt.
This age group is made up of some real quality players and that shone through from the first whistle.
The ball was passed around skillfully to try and break down the opposition and exploit spaces and their defences.
All players played a massive part in the tournament and fresh legs were often released to maintain momentum.
It was a real team performance so difficult to chose a Player of the Day. However the accolade was handed to Mac Barlow. After coming back from her Cancer battle last year, she terrified defences and managed to get 7 goals!
Lots more experiences and adventures for this team over the next year. Watch this space!
The only downside of the day was losing our Jay Bird during the first game. An innocuous turn resulted in her knee giving way and unfortunately resulted in her ankle breaking. Swift recovery Jay
