“Hello We are a Walking and Veterans Group based in Southport and are embarking on a marathon Walking Football challenge to raise Funds in memory of Alice, Bebe and Elsie who tragically lost their lives a few weeks ago,

The funds are going to the three schools that the girls attended for them to use as they see fit. We have set an ambitious target and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind-hearted footballers players between 60 and 90 years old will be playing football for 24 hours to fundraise after the tragedy in which three young girls were killed in Southport. Southport Veterans and Walking football enthusiasts will embark on a 24-hour, 5-a-side Football Marathon at Dunes Leisure Centre in Southport from Wednesday, 18th September 2024 through to Thursday, 19th September 2024. The goal of the 24 hour football match aims to raise £3,000, equally divided between the following Schools, that were attended by Alice, Bebe and Elsie Dot

We have a session planned where we will be playing a local Under 8’s girls Team in a Grandads v Granddaughters session, some of the Girls were directly involved in the awful events and were friends of the victims, and some of our players have Grandchildren who were affected by the events.

This is a way of us giving something back to the Community and hopefully generate a lasting legacy in memory of the girls. It will be a challenge playing continuously for 24 hours but we have lots of willing volunteers stepping up to the mark – by 2 am onwards it may well be “Crawling Football” – now there’s a thought!
