ALL three Dawlish teams had something to play for as the first-ever Devon Women’s Walking Football League reached an exciting conclusion on Sunday, April 6.
In League One, the Cygnets beat champions Plymouth Argyle in their own pursuit of second place but defeat to Taunton and District, courtesy of a cruel deflection late on, left them in a very respectable third.
League Two has been an altogether closer affair with any of the top three still in the mix for first place right until the very end.
Teign Bees entered the final game ahead of Dawlish Swans but only by goal difference, Bees having beaten Dawlish by a single goal previously.

The Fledgies took on the Bees, knowing they could do clubmates Swans a favour but to no avail. It was not to be as results went as expected, with the top two both picking up three points and remaining in position.
Teign Bees were worthy winners of League Two. One of their new additions, Katy Hine, picked up the Golden Boot despite coming into the team mid-season.
Special mention goes to the Swans’ keeper, Angie Scott, for winning the Golden Glove trophy for the most clean sheets.
