A WALKING football club has raised more than £5,000 through its annual charity tournament.
Culcheth Walking Football raised £5,079 through the Culcheth Cup, held in support of the Stroke Association.
This year’s event, held on Sunday, October 5, took place at the newly-installed 3G pitch at Culcheth High School.
Jane Guy, who represented the Stroke Association’s Warrington team and accepted the donation on behalf of the charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted and deeply grateful to everyone who supported this fantastic walking football tournament.
“Your generosity will make a real difference to those affected by stroke.”
The tournament saw 14 teams from across the region compete in group and knockout rounds.
All three Culcheth teams reached the quarter-finals.

Bolton went on to win the tournament, defeating Blackpool in the final.
Walking football is designed for people aged over 50 and offers a safe, inclusive way to stay active, enjoy football, and socialise.
