A Blackburn Rovers fan with dementia has praised walking football sessions being hosted by the club.
Dementia Action Week is the Alzheimer’s Society’s biggest and longest running awareness campaign.
Blackburn Rovers Community Trust run projects to help people with dementia and offer support to them and their families, including the charity’s Rehabilitation Walking Football programme.
Rovers supporter Glyn has been regularly attending the Rehabilitation Walking Football sessions since the programme’s inception in 2022.
He said: “I enjoy the sessions so much, they are excellent; I am probably Blackburn Rovers’ biggest fan!
“I love getting the exercise and it is nice to have a chat with everyone. I have a great laugh with the other players and everyone else involved.
“The sessions are so much fun, especially the match we play at the end.”
