ALLOA Athletic’s Walking Football team topped off a perfect season to remember as they brought five trophies back to the Recs.
The squad, made up of men around their 60s, won all but one of the competitions they participated in last year.
A hugely successful campaign saw the Alloa WF team win the Glasgow Trophy, Glasgow Cup, East of Scotland 65’s League, Super Vets and the Champions League.
Richard Sinclair is one of the coaches heading up the team and he spoke to the Advertiser to share his pride on the team’s performances.
He said: “It’s the players that did it, they’ve done remarkably well.
“We don’t have hundreds of players, but what we do have is quality.
“They’re playing some good stuff, they’ve all played before, We did really well last year.”
The club was formed in 2016 as a small group of around eight or nine players, with Richard coming on board in 2017.
Over the last nine years, they have seen their numbers grow to just shy of 30 players, helping to contribute to resounding success…
Additionally, Alloa is always on the lookout for new members, with anyone interested urged to head along to the Recs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 11am.
Richard said: “Anybody that wants to come along is more than welcome.”
