The image montage here captures the true spirit of Walking Football.
It demonstrates how Walking Football can be competitive to the existing players, yet open to new players to come along, learn about the sport in a friendly and fun, yet educational atmosphere. Walking Football is not all about the game, it is also about learning, friendship, having a laugh, meeting new people, getting fit and staying healthy. At some venues you can even bring your family pet with you!
What more could us oldies ask for in later life? I hope I am allowed to say that, as I am now nearer 60 than 50!
This festival had it all, and the organisers should be commended for getting the blend just perfectly right.

This is was not a club run event. It was an event run by two avid women walkers who want as many older women to be able to access and play the beautiful game of football.
The festival proved to be a fantastic opportunity for both existing club teams, individual players joining up to make All Star teams, and complete newbies to the sport, to enjoy an afternoon of Walking Football (even when the rain made it’s intermittent visits).
