The Hibernian Community Foundation and Hibernian FC are excited to announce the launch of the Ron Gordon Football Classic 2026 – taking place at Easter Road Stadium on Saturday 23 May!

For the first time as part of an initiative run by HCF, Hibs fans and members of the Hibernian Community will be given the chance to grace the Easter Road pitch, following in the footsteps of their heroes from both past and present.

Over the course of the day a number of different groups will have the opportunity to play football on the hallowed turf at Easter Road. Starting with a Play on the Pitch Camp in the morning (Under 12s), HCF’s walking football participants will then take centre stage, before an adults’ tournament (over 16s) will close the day out.

“The Ron Gordon Football Classic is all about giving everyone a chance to play on the famous Easter Road pitch,” said HCF Managing Director, John MacMillan MBE.

“Regardless of age, ability, mobility or fitness, everyone should have the opportunity to live their footballing dreams at Easter Road, and we want to provide that.”

The Ron Gordon Football Classic honours the legacy of former Hibernian FC Chairman Ron Gordon. A passionate family and community man, Ron cared deeply about providing opportunities for all members of the community, whether that be at Easter Road or in the wider Leith and Edinburgh Community.

Running alongside the Ron Gordon Football Classic will be the Hibernian FC Open Door Day – giving season ticket holders the chance to enjoy a day on the Easter Road pitch!

As part of our Open Door Day, supporters will be able to enjoy a range of activities, including a 10-minute Tunnel and Changing Room Tour, as well as the Hibernian Historical Trust Exhibition in the Edinburgh Club, showcasing historical artefacts and memorabilia…
