Insurance changes
If you are a player at a WFA affiliated club, they will have asked you to enter your details into our player insurance database and will have provided you a link to do that.
This system is no longer active, due to technical difficulties and the fact that we are moving to a new system from April 1st. So, if you have tried in the last couple of weeks or are about to try and add your name, you can no longer do this on that platform.
Does this mean I’m not insured?
No, it doesn’t. If you are a player at a WFA affiliated club you are insured. The old system was a way for us to keep track of the player numbers and as a double check system for the insurance company.
What happens from April 1st 2026?
Since the start of this month, club have been able to re-affiliate to the WFA. The difference for this year is that the platform we use (Joinit) will now also be used to hold the player details for each club, so it also becomes out insurance database.
Who puts the player details in this new system?
The club now does this not the players, so whoever manages the club will now be responsible for managing the players within their club membership on the platform.
What happens between now and when my club adds my details?
As mentioned earlier, you are insured if you play for a WFA affiliated club, and if you need to make a claim in the next few weeks, we will deal with you and your club to confirm you are a player.
Does my club know about this change?
Yes, they should. All current WFA affiliated clubs have been sent an email explaining all this, and many have already re-affiliated under the new system.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Your membership on the Joinit platform, also gives you a digital membership card that you can add to your Apple or Google wallet on your phone. This membership card can also display a profile photo of you, so make sure whoever manages your club has one for them to upload.
