A GROUP of goal-den girls are looking for women who want to try the beautiful game to join their walking football team.
The women’s walking football team run by Morton in the Community is the only one of its kind in Inverclyde.
It runs at Inverkip Hub every Friday but sometimes has to use male volunteers to make up the numbers.
The team are looking to expand their numbers to give more women the chance to take part and stay fit.

“It’s not really about football. It’s more about fitness and getting their steps in.
“They’re like a little family to me.”
She added that the growing popularity of women’s walking football reflects a rise in participation in women’s football in general.
Edwina Scollay, 61, who plays in the team, said: “It’s great. It’s social interaction and exercise and homemade cakes afterwards. And there’s the banter of course.”
Judy Semple, who has been going along for eight years, added: “It’s excellent. It’s sociable fun with exercise.
“It’s a good network. We have a WhatsApp group as well which is great for socialising, especially for people living on their own.”
Judy told the Tele she always wanted to play football when she was young but girls weren’t allowed back then.
