A walking football club has held a memorial match for one of it members.
Neuro Walking Football Worcestershire, Movers and Shakers FC, is for people with neurological conditions, mainly Parkinson’s.
Since starting in 2022, the club has expanded from six members, to more than 25.
It offers support from a Parkinson’s physiotherapist and provides a chance for members and their carers to connect over tea and cakes.

The club is open to those from Herefordshire, Worcestershire and neighbouring counties.
On July 16, 2025, the club held a memorial match for Vernon Brooks, known as ‘Knocker,’ who joined in April 2023 and quickly became a valued member.
Members attended his funeral in their club shirts, and his partner Louise, also a club contributor, has been made a life member.
