Edgware-based Barnet Walking Football Team (WFT) has won the Club of the Year award at the Walking Football Association (WFA) Awards 2024.
Barnet WFT has continued to impress with its incredible contribution to the local area.
One of their initiatives is collecting Easter eggs to donate to community groups. This year, they are aiming to build on the 400 Easter eggs they donated to Colindale Foodbank, Stonegrove Community Trust and Dementia Club UK in 2024.
The group also donated books to the Young Barnet Foundation on Thursday, February 20.
The WFA were particularly impressed with Barnet WFT’s inclusivity, with women’s, mixed teams and a dementia football team and age categories ranging from 50 to 70.
In a post on X, Barnet WFT said: “The Barnet FC WFT is very proud to have won the WFA Club of the Year 2024.
“Wonderful recognition of the hard work of all our players in creating our fab club. Thank you.”
