EWFC Announcement: Following the announcement by Tony Norton (Chairman) on Dec 1st that he was stepping down from the EWFC.
The EWFC In order to protect the reputation of the England Walking Football Community we have worked hard to build for 4 years it has been decided that from Dec 31st 2024 the EWFC will be dissolved.
Any new organisation , no matter how close the name sounds or logo’s look will not be anything to do with the EWFC that has been operating for the last 4 years.
That is not saying that any new organisation will bring the reputation into distribute etc but with personnel involved we know nothing at all about we cannot guarantee that.
This would not only be unfair to myself, Mandy and Eilish but to all players , managers and coaches involved over the last 4 years.
For the sake of all the quality players who were still members of the EWFC on the 1st Dec 2024, we sincerely wish any new organisation all the best so them players can continue to wear the England Shirt with the pride they showed at the EWFC.
We would like to thank all the previous managers who have made the EWFC the success it was, with your wonderful coaching , managing and care for all players under your watch.
Thank you Eilish, Mac, Steve, Carl, Dave, Chris and Simon.
Four years of trophies , friendships built, respect for other nations teams and humility , you should all be very proud of what you achieved .
Thanks to all players who wore the EWFC with pride , you all conducted yourselves both on and off the pitch to the level and above what the EWFC expected.
