A new women’s walking football session has started in Cwmbran.
The group met yesterday (Friday 12 April) for the first time. Walking football is suitable for anyone, even if you’ve never played before.
Nick Beckett is a qualified coach and referee. He’s part of the Wales national over 60s walking football team and ran the session.
He said: “It’s designed for women of any age who have never played football. I have played walking football for around seven years and got a huge benefit from it so believe it should be open to anyone.”
From Friday 26 April they will be playing from 5pm at Cwmbran 3G pitch next to the Welsh Padel Centre at Woodland Road in Croesyceiliog. The cost is £4 a session and all are welcome.
