Walking football is a variant of football based on it aims to play the traditional game for people over 50 years of age and for those who are unable to play due to lack of mobility or for other reasons. The sport can both be played indoors as well as outdoors. Walking Football was initiated in 2011 by the FC Chesterfield Community Trust in the UK.
Origin of walking football in Friedelsheim:
Founded in September 2022 with seven walking soccer players, the number of players is 15 active players increased, including the 1st. Chair of TuS, Günter Münch. Under the direction of Martin Schwarzweller, TuS member since 1986 and B-Schein owner, the walking footballers met, all over 50 Years old, Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. on the well-kept lawn at the Schwabenbachhalle for weekly training.
Since some club members of the TV Gönnheim joined the training group, a cooperation between the two clubs was concluded. In the open-air season from April to October, walking football is played in Friedelsheim on the Rasenplatz and in the winter season Hallentennis at TV Gönnheim.
Training times:
October-April: football tennis in the hall of TV Gönnheim from 6:30 p.m.
April-October: open-air lawn of the TUS Friedelshem from 5:30 p.m.
