A WHITCHURCH man is urging more older footballers to join in with walking football in the town each week.
Chris Ridgeway is part of the Whitchurch Walking Football Group that plays each Wednesday in the Market Hall, which remains open despite the RAAC crisis.
He says he is hooked on playing – despite not being a footballer in his sporting prime – and says it has been perfect for widening his social circle, and all ages over 50 are welcome…
“We continue to play each week in Whitchurch Market Hall from 1pm until 2pm every Wednesday and usually go to a nearby café for a drink and chat afterwards.
“The ‘subs’ are £3 weekly.”
Anyone looking to play can do so by heading to the hall ahead of the game.
