Enjoy a kick about at Age UK Bristol’s new Walking Football sessions, in partnership with Young Bristol.
Age UK Bristol and Young Bristol have come together to deliver a new programme of Walking Football sessions for people 55+ across Bristol.
The partnership which launches the week commencing 10th May 2021, will see sessions take place at Young Bristol’s Community Youth Clubs, which are under-utilised whilst children and young people attend school.
Walking Football is, as the name suggests, a version of football where players walk instead of run. The project will offer people aged 55+ the opportunity to get involved with a low-impact version of the sport; supporting you to keep fit and socialise with like-minded people.
Sessions will be led by Qualified Coach, Jeff Dickens and will take place:
Every Monday, 10:00am – 12:00pm at Ashton Vale Club for Young People
Every Wednesday, 10:00am – 12:00pm at Sea Mills Boys’ and Girls Club
Every Monday 9.45 – 11.45am / Thursday, 11:00am – 1:00pm at Broad Plain & Riverside Youth Project
Every Tuesday 6.30 – 8.30pm / Friday, 10:00am – 12:00pm at BS14 Youth Club
Sessions cost £4 per person and include a hot beverage. All sessions will take place in the Youth Clubs outdoor courts, so please dress appropriately. All abilities welcome.
Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, booking is essential.
